2016 EKU Paper Competition

IIK sponsored a scholarship completion for Eastern Kentucky University students who submitted a paper on a topic related to property and casualty or life insurance.  The scholarship award winners were announced at the Annual EKU Robert B. Morgan Insurance Conference on April 5, 2016.

In the picture to the right are EKU Insurance Program Director Burke Christensen, 2nd place winner Brianna Saylor, 1st place winner Sarah Smith, IIK Executive Director Mark Treesh, and EKU RMI Professor Siwei Gao.

The two winning papers may be seen here:

  • 1st Place – $1,000 scholarship:  “Insurance Fraud: What are the Costs?” by Sarah Smith
  • 2nd Place – $500 scholarship:  “Hoverboard Risk Management” by Brianna Saylor

Results may also be seen from prior competitions in 2015, 2014 and 2013.
