2014 EKU PAPER COMPETITION

EKU-Paper-Competition

IIK sponsored a scholarship completion for Eastern Kentucky University students who submitted a paper on a topic related to property and casualty insurance.  The scholarship award winners were announced at the Annual EKU Insurance Day on April 22, 2014.

In the picture above on the left are Burke Christensen, EKU Risk Management and Insurance Program Director, and 1st place winner Cheryl Fuller.

In the picture above on the right are Burke Christensen, Professor Siwei Gao, 2nd place winner Amanda Roberts, and IIK Executive Director Mark Treesh.

The two winning papers and two honorable mention papers may be seen here:

  • 1st Place – $1,000 scholarship:  “The Pursuit of True Liability” by Cheryl Fuller
  • 2nd Place – $500 scholarship:  “Developments in the Pricing of Auto Insurance Based Upon Driving Behavior” by Amanda Roberts
  • Honorable Mention:  “Changing Tort Reform In Kentucky” by Christel Siglock
  • Honorable Mention: “Insurance Regulation: State vs Federal” by Jarrod Wolfe
