Direct Repair Programs

Home / Insurance Resources / Auto Insurance Resources / Direct Repair Programs

Many insurers maintain direct repair programs (DRP) in which they contract with selected auto body repair shops to perform repairs according to terms which have been agreed upon by the insurer and the repair shop. This practice by insurers has a number of benefits for the consumer.

Many insurers will provide a guarantee of the quality of the repairs done in a DRP which provides additional consumer protection for claimants. In addition, DRP’s help to contain costs and those savings are passed on to policyholders in the form of lower premiums.

Of course, you always have the choice of where you have your car repaired. Insurers will inform consumers of all their choices, including the benefits of using DRP’s.

Below are some information resources for those who would like to learn more.
